One Bit, two very different numbers

On the Twitch website, Bits currently sell in six sizes: 100 for $1.40, 500 for $7.00, 1,500 for $19.95, 5,000 for $64.40, 10,000 for $126.00 and 25,000 for $308.00. The pattern is a straightforward volume discount, and the effective price per Bit drops steadily as the packs get larger. Buying inside the iOS or Android apps costs noticeably more than any of these, because Apple and Google take their platform fee on top. A hundred Bits is a dollar to the channel and is the standard small cheer. A thousand Bits is ten dollars, which is where a cheer starts feeling like a real gesture.
